Construction at the Omeheu Solar Farm continues to progress, with activity increasing across the site as key civil and infrastructure works advance.
As construction ramps up, nearby residents may notice an increase in the use of heavy machinery, including piling rigs, excavators and other construction equipment. These activities may generate periods of noise and vibration. The project team continues to monitor these impacts to ensure all works remain compliant with approved consent conditions.
All construction activities are being undertaken in accordance with the project’s approved resource consents, including requirements relating to noise management and environmental protection.
Managing Construction Impacts
A range of measures are in place to minimise disruption to neighbouring properties and the surrounding community, including:
- Designated loading and unloading areas to reduce unnecessary vehicle movements.
- Construction equipment switched off when not in use.
- Broadband reversing alarms fitted to site vehicles where appropriate.
- Ongoing staff training in noise-reduction and good site management practices.
- Regular monitoring of construction activities to ensure compliance with consent conditions.
Working with Our Community
We are committed to keeping our neighbours informed throughout construction and to minimising impacts wherever possible, particularly for residents and businesses located close to the project.
