Construction is progressing well at Omeheu Solar Farm near Edgecumbe, with major works continuing across the site as the project moves closer to delivering renewable energy for New Zealand.
Mechanical installation is advancing steadily, including the installation of mounting structures and racking systems. More than half of the solar panels that will make up the 38 MWp solar farm have now been installed, marking an important milestone for the project team.
The next major milestone will be energisation, expected in mid-2026. Once operational, Omeheu Solar Farm will contribute more renewable electricity to New Zealand’s grid, helping support the country’s growing demand for clean energy.
We would like to thank everyone involved in the project, including our construction partner Metlen Energy & Metals, for their ongoing commitment to safety, quality and delivery. We also appreciate the continued support of the local community as construction progresses.es.
